Why GoldenYears Pet Essentials exists
A few years ago, I met a senior greyhound who belonged to a friend of mine. He was a gentle old soul, but I could see that getting comfortable didn’t come easily to him. Even lying down looked like an effort.
One afternoon, a young border collie was racing around, chasing a ball and playing with me. The old greyhound watched every throw. He wanted so badly to join in, but he couldn’t run the way he used to, and he couldn’t keep up for long.
I couldn’t stop thinking about that moment. Older pets don’t stop wanting to play, rest and be part of the family. They just need a little more help doing it.
At home, my family has a poodle and a golden retriever. They’re still young and full of energy, but watching that greyhound taught me something: comfort shouldn’t wait until a pet is old. The soft bed, the easy step up onto the sofa and the place to rest after a big day all matter from the start, and they matter even more later on.
